Providing the technical capacities and capabilities of IDEM to the business environment of the industry.
Figures are read straight from the catalogue; a range is the real spread across that family’s variants.
| Family | Cylinders | Bore × stroke | Displacement | Power | Torque |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| OM 314 | 4 | 97 × 128 mm | 3780 cm³ | 62–81 kW | 235–350 N.m |
| OM 355 | 6 | 128 × 150 mm | 11581 cm³ | 166–210 kW | 820–1059 N.m |
| OM 364 | 4 | 97.5 × 133 mm | 3972 cm³ | 95–103 kW | 455–480 N.m |
| OM 457 | 6 | 128 × 155 mm | 11967 cm³ | 220–260 kW | 1250–1600 N.m |
Bore, stroke and displacement are the geometry of the licensed Daimler-Benz design each family is built to. An empty cell means no figure is published — not a number worth guessing.
Eight assemblies do the work, from the cast block to the belt drive at the front. Pick one to see it on its own.

The cast-iron backbone: six cylinder bores, the main bearing seats and the coolant and oil galleries in one casting.

Carry the valves, the valve train and the injectors, and close off the top of every cylinder.

Six pistons on their connecting rods turn combustion pressure into rotation at a forged crankshaft.

Exhaust gas spins the turbine, and the compressor on the same shaft forces more air into the cylinders.

An electronically governed in-line injection pump meters fuel to the six injectors through steel high-pressure lines.

Smooths the pulses between firing strokes and carries the ring gear the starter engages; the gearbox or generator mounts on the housing.

The crankshaft pulley and vibration damper drive the water pump and the alternator through the belts.

The oil pan holds the oil, the filter cleans it and the cooler holds its temperature before it returns to the bearings.

Licence, engine types, emission class and spare-part supply — answered from IDEM’s own documentation.

Our production complex was established in 1348 with the joint investment of Iran and Germany, licensee of Daimler Benz of Germany, and the products are built to the standards defined by Daimler.
300 series engines in the OM 314, OM 352, OM 355 and OM 364 types, and the new 400 series in the OM 457 type, in both on-road and industrial versions.
The 364, 314 and 355 types are produced with Euro 2, Euro 3, Euro 4 and Euro 5 EEV emission levels.
IDEM appoints trusted and reliable representatives throughout the country to supply standard spare parts to customers.
IDEM has built engines under Daimler Benz licence since 1348 (1969), and has carried the same families forward one standard at a time.
The OM 355 is the only family to have taken all four steps.
